In the fourth year of partnership with children’s cancer charity, Camp Quality, over 1,400 Lorraine Lea Independent Stylists across the country rallied to raise money through home styling parties, events and donations. While the majority of the fundraising activity took place in June, funds were also raised by a number of initiatives throughout the year.
The money from this year’s campaign will help facilitate Camp Quality’s 2017 Family Programs, which provides camps and fun days for kids aged 0-13 who have directly been affected by cancer, their siblings and their parents. Camp Quality chief executive officer, Simon Rountree, says the ongoing support from Lorraine Lea is vital to the continued success of their programs. “Lorraine Lea is one of our major strategic partners, and the fundraising they do every year enables us to continue offering programs free-of-charge to families that need them,” he explains. “A weekend at camp or at a ‘fun day’ significantly raises the optimism and builds resilience of the children and their families, and helps them cope with the ordeal they are going through.
“We’re so grateful to Lorraine Lea for everything they do; not just for their fundraising efforts, but also to their Stylists who volunteer to help out at our events.”
This is the fourth consecutive year the family-operated homewares company has donated a total fundraising amount in excess of $160,000 to Camp Quality, and Lorraine Lea Company Director, Adrian Ryan, says he’s honoured to help such a worthwhile cause. “Our company is built on family values, and it means so much to be able to provide some support to families who are doing it tough throughout their cancer journey,” says Adrian. “I’m very proud of our staff and sales-force for their fundraising efforts this year.”
Since Lorraine Lea’s Party for Kids with Cancer® fund was established in 2000, it has raised more than $1.4 million for various charities to help improve the quality of life experienced by young people living with cancer in Australia.
