DSA’s Annual Speaker Showcase

Direct Selling Australia’s Speakers Showcase is an annual stand-alone event that brings interesting and emerging speakers together on one stage providing our members with a face-to-face taste of their abilities and expertise. Born out of member feedback wanting more business-related content at conference, but still benefiting from DSA’s history of uncovering speakers suited to both corporate and the field, this year’s Showcase proves to be particularly exciting as it is our first event of 2022.

2022’s Showcase venue is the luxurious Sheraton Grand Hyde Park Hotel in Sydney. Speakers will take the stage at 2.00pm until approximately 4.30pm when audience and speakers will be able to mingle with other members joining us for networking drinks and nibbles. If getting to Sydney is a concern for you – not to worry – we’ll be streaming the Showcase part of the day to all virtual ticket holders. No matter how you wish to participate we have you covered with three ticket types: Showcase and Networking, Virtual Showcase and Networking Only.

Join us on 10 February at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Sydney. For more information and to purchase tickets, click below.

Speaker, Author

Lisa knows the power of stories and the importance of using them well. Her unique style of teaching inspires leaders and teams to step out and step up to embrace everything that this amazing industry has to offer.

Cherie Clonan
Speaker, Director

Cherie Clonan has enjoyed a 13-year marketing career, where she has ultimately specialised in content and has subsequently turned a tiny little business like TDP [which began with grassroots social media workshops held on a Sunday afternoon at whatever venue would allow her to waltz into it with her flamingo and pineapple banners… and her picnic basket] into what it is today. An award winning, multiple 7 figure digital marketing agency that puts people over profit, and shows the “big guys” [read: corporate powerhouses] what corporate responsibility really looks like, day in and day out.

Professionally speaking? Cherie is responsible for ensuring that The Digital Picnic is continuously providing state-of-the-art digital marketing training to businesses all over Australia / internal marketing teams [of which we’ve trained more than 15,000 individuals now]. Also overseeing the ongoing social media management our team delivers for an incredible line-up of clients within our digital marketing portfolio.

When she’s not doing that? You’ll find her putting out fights within her team over what temperature is acceptable for an office heater to go up to in a Winter’y Melbourne digital marketing office. FYI? 27 degrees is *not* acceptable 😉

There’s a reason why we’re considered to be Australia’s leaders in social media training.

There’s a reason why our client portfolio is filled with powerhouse brands.

TDP is *really* good at what we do.

Stacey Copas
Keynote Speaker, Author

Stacey Copas has not let a devastating accident that left her a quadriplegic and needing a wheelchair for life at 12 years old slow her down.

Instead she has used her life experience and personal philosophies to work with organisations who want their people to be more engaged, resilient and productive so that they can grow through uncertainty and change.

Her first book “How To Be Resilient”, which was published after a successful crowd funding campaign was endorsed by Brian Tracy and Layne Beachley. Stacey has been featured by Financial Review, ABC radio and The Australian, and hired by large organisations such as Viacom, GM Holden and Flight Centre for her insights on resilience in the workplace.

With a “say yes and figure out how later” approach to life, Stacey has achieved some remarkable feats including starring in a feature film with no acting experience, volunteering in Solomon Islands, competing at a national level in para-athletics after 22 years on the sidelines and running for parliament.

In her spare time you are likely to find Stacey in the nearest patch of sunshine with a book recharging her solar powers.

Christian ‘Boo’ Boucousis
Entrepreneur Leader, CEO, Author

Boo is an established entrepreneur, business owner and today, an executive leadership and performance coach. At the age of 19 Boo was recruited into the Royal Australian Air Force as a pilot and completed over 11 years as an elite fighter pilot, one of only 400 trained over a 40 year period.

The product of a $15 million dollar training program, Boo reached the pinnacle of his career as a Squadron Leader, before his medical discharge for a chronic auto immune disorder known as Ankylosing Spondylitis. At 30 years of age Boo made a life changing decision, boarding a commercial flight to Kabul Afghanistan, where he founded CTG Global, a Humanitarian business delivering projects on behalf of United Nations agencies. Over a period of three years Boo cut his business teeth in one of the worlds most demanding, challenging and dangerous environments on the planet, successfully growing the business to over 1,600 employees until its sale four years later.

Today CTG is a multi-million-dollar company with operations spanning the globe. Boo subsequently transitioned into property development and hospitality, his company built the world’s tallest prefabricated modular hotel in the Australian city of Perth, completing a two year project in only 11 months. The project set a record for the construction of 17 stories, completing the structure in only 11 weeks.

Boo also heads up the Australian arm of an organisation called “Afterburner” a team of men and women who had served as fighter pilots, the custodians of “The Fighter Pilot Way”, also called Flawless Execution. Upon participating in his first Afterburner event Boo had an epiphany, the skills he learned, developed and applied as a fighter pilot were the fundamental skills that lead to his business success. It’s through this journey Boo developed a passion for human performance. He’s identified what it is about our innate humanness that prevents us from living the life we dream about and the secrets to unlocking the power of the people around us to assist us with achieving our goals. Most recently he acquired the magazine that inspired him to become a pilot, inspiring another generation of pilots to enjoy the career that has given so much to him.

What can you learn from Boo? From losing the career that meant so much to him, surviving the roller-coaster that is Entrepreneurialism, dealing with the chronic pain of a degenerative illness, Boo shares his story of conquering adversity through his motto “Never Give Up”.

BOO SPEAKS ON THE TOPICS: • Trust and Integrity • The importance of situational awareness and clarity for effective leaders • Resilience in the face of change • High Performing Teams • Thinking like a founder
